q&a: Q: Fantasy is a difficult market. Why that specific genre? A: I didn't have a choice. I had been searching for a new creative outlet. Praying day and night to my heavenly father about what he wants me to do. Three months later I had written my first novel. Divine intervention. Q: You have a successful art career, why switch gears? A: Art is about growth. After 40 years of photography and painting I felt I needed to grow in another direction. Q: Why a woman hero? A: Women don't get the credit they deserve. Women have a power and mental toughness I admire. I wanted that in my novel. Q: What's next for your writing? A: I'll finish this trilogy and then I have 64 other book ideas ready. I've already started a new book that is not part of the original Xenkur series. It takes place in Xenkur but has a new cast of characters. It's titled Songweaver.
